HANOVER Herman E. Grimsley, 72, died Mon., April 14, at the Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Joan L. (Snyder) Grimsley of Hanover. Born August 8, 1941, in Pinetops, N.C., he was the son of the late Johnny and Fannie (Ellis) Grimsley. Herman was a 1960 graduate of Littlestown High School and served in the Army National Guard for 10 years. He worked at the Taneytown Grain and Supply, Southern States and retired from the Carroll County Schools in the maintenance dept. and plant operations. Surviving in addition to his wife are his two beloved daughters, Veronica Groft and husband Cory, of Littlestown and Sabina Hege of Lewisville, N.C.; grandchildren, Shanna Groft, Jessica Young, Tanya Smith, Amir Sadri and Zackary Hege; great-grandchildren, Alexander Groft, Shyenne Young, Nathaniel Wagaman, Lillian Smith and Donovan Smith; two brothers, Raymond Grimsley of Sykesville and Jimmy Grimsley of Gettysburg; three sisters, Nolah Bowers and Velma Moore, both of Westminster, and Ruth Ann Bartholow of Gamber. He was predeceased by a sister, Sadie Miller. Herman was very dedicated to his family, work and loved his rose garden. A Funeral Service is Friday, April 18, at 1 p.m. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown with Pastor Malcolm B. Workman, Chaplain of Environmentally Safe Products, Inc. officiating. There will be a viewing Thursday, April 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover. Online condolences at email@example.com
