GETTYSBURG Naomi (Anderson) Smith, 72, died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at her residence. She was the wife of Alfred F. "Fred" Smith, her husband of 49 years. Naomi was born July 31, 1941, in Washington D.C., the daughter of the late Leonard and Eva M. (Buttery) Anderson. Naomi was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford. Her greatest passion in life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed many weekends going to the beach, spending time at the family cabin, or going to the bay with her sister. In addition to her husband Fred, Naomi is survived by a daughter, Pamela A. Dean and her husband Timothy, of York Springs; a son, Alf F. Smith, Jr. of New Oxford; five grandchildren, Krystin Anderson, Timothy A. Anderson, Jr. and his wife Courtney, Chelsea Ross and her husband Joseph, Evan Smith, and Madelyn Smith; six great-grandchildren, Kynslee, Makayla, Jaxsin, Wyatt, Rayven, and Mitchell; four sisters, Pauline Little of Hunterstown, Grace Mastroni of Gettysburg, Ferne Nowak of Gettysburg, and Dottie Groft of Gettysburg; and a brother, Charles A. Anderson of Biglerville. She was predeceased by a daughter, Paula Smith; a sister, Julia Myers; and a brother, Earl Anderson. Following cremation, a memorial mass will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St, New Oxford, with the Rev. Steven Fauser officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. At the family's request, please omit flowers.
