HANOVER Ronnie Lee Martin, 67, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at home. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Dorothy Michelle (Harget) Martin. Born, April 3, 1947, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Gerald Martin and Geneta (Sullivan) Murphy and her husband Ralph Murphy. Ronnie was an alumnus of the Milton Hershey School. He also served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. Along with his wife, surviving are his children, Michell L. Briggs and her husband Dwaine of Hanover, Ronnie L. Martin, Jr. and his wife Mindy of Hanover, and Rebecca L. Kennedy and her companion Larry Evans, Jr. of Hanover. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Haley Ann Briggs, Alaina Nichole Martin and Ronnie L. Martin, III all of Hanover; and 2 sisters, Wanda Lightly of Hellam and Vonda Altland of Hanover. Along with his parents, Ronnie is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Caitlyn Renee Kennedy. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ronnie will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 6 p.m. at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with The Rev. Kathryn A. Schroeder officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be from 5 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
