YORK HAVEN Joan P. (Kopp) Chapman-Fisher, 82, passed away at 11:43 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, at York Hospital. Joan was born January 16, 1932, in Hanover, and was the daughter of the late Harry and Gertrude (Becker) Kopp. Joan is survived by her three daughters, Karen Merica, Kay Yeager and Fay Lambert, all of York; her two sons, Jim Chapman and Frank Chapman, both of York; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers. Known as "Mom" to many, she was the Head Cook at Conewago Elementary School in Conewago Township, where she was a mother figure and impacted the lives of many children. She was a member of Mt. Washington United Brethren Church in Zion View and the New Cumberland V.F.W. Post 7415. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her viewings from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf. Her service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery.
