GETTYSBURG Jean Sixeas died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, surrounded by her family. Jean is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jay L. Sixeas. Born September 28, 1940, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late J.E. and Ruth (Wilson) Wells. She was associated with Sixeas Furniture Store in Gettysburg for many years. Jean was an active member of the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, serving as a Deacon, and was a member of the Presbyterian Women's Circle. Jean was affectionately known as Gram to her beloved grandchildren whom she adored. Her big heart, huge smile, great laugh, and most of all her generosity, will be missed by all her knew her. She enjoyed entertaining, cooking, and baking. In addition to her husband, Jay, she is survived by three children, Judy Beamer and husband, Rick, Jim Sixeas and fiancee, Kim Cosden, and Ann Cowden and husband, Kirk, all of Gettysburg; five grandchildren, Matthew, Stephanie, and Emily Beamer, and Alex and Olivia Cowden; and her sister, Elizabeth Conover and husband, Wayne. Jean was predeceased by her sister, Louise Wells. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014, at 2 p.m. from the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, 208 Baltimore St., Gettysburg, with the Revs. David Wright, Louis Nyiri, and Candace Veon-Nyiri officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, with Rick Beamer, Matthew Beamer, Alex Cowden, Kirk Cowden, Jim Sixeas, Russ Cline, Ron Galovich, and Dan Galovich serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. The family suggests memorials to the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church.
