ABBOTTSTOWN Robert E. Brodbeck, 77, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Betty J. (Borror) Brodbeck. Robert was born November 23, 1936, in Dover Twp., the son of the late Paul A. and Ethel G. (Byers) Brodbeck, Sr. Robert retired from Caterpillar after 30 years of service. He was a life member of the New Oxford Social & Athletic Club, and a member of the McSherrystown Fish & Game, East Berlin Fish & Game, where he helped to teach hunter's safety, East Berlin V.F.W., Hanover Home Association, McSherrystown Moose, Gettysburg Eagles, and the Two Buck Hunting Camp in Tioga County. In addition to his wife, Betty, Robert is survived by three daughters, Karen S. Brodbeck of New Oxford, Belinda K. Smith of New Oxford, and Benita R. Blouse and her husband, Barry of Abbottstown; four grandchildren; his close friend, Sunnee Sanders of Abbottstown; two brothers, Richard Brodbeck of New Oxford and Jim Brodbeck of Thomasville; and three sisters, Ethel Trimmer of East Berlin, Jean Hoffman of Dover, and Ruth Laughman of East Berlin. He was predeceased by three brothers, Paul, William, and John Brodbeck; and a sister, Mary Bream. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, with the Rev. Douglas C. Hahn officiating. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens in Hanover.
