Marlyn E. Trimmer Obituary
NEW OXFORD Marlyn E. Trimmer, 73, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Friday, June 6, 2014, at the Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Leona M. (Smith) Trimmer. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on the day of his passing. Marlyn was born March 28, 1941, in Straban Twp., Adams Co.,, the son of the late George R. and Lena I. (Hartzell) Trimmer. Marlyn was a graduate of New Oxford High School class of 1959. He enlisted with the U.S. Army and served from 1959-1962, where he spent 30 months in Munich, Germany. He was employed with McClarin Plastics, Hanover, retiring in 2004 after 40 years of service, and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Oxford, the McSherrystown Moose, Conewago Valley AARP #4370, and a life member of the McSherrystown Home Association and the New Oxford Social and Athletic Club. Marlyn loved to bowl, play cards, and mow lawns. He enjoyed the many years spent with his family in Ocean City, Md., and watching his grandchildren participate in sporting events. In addition to his wife, Leona, Marlyn is survived by a daughter, Sharon Weaver and her husband, Matthew of Hanover; two sons, Scott Trimmer and his wife, Jill of East Berlin, and Michael Trimmer and his wife, Denise of Hanover; five grandchildren, Justin Weaver, Courtney Weaver, Alec Lardarello, Brandon Trimmer, and Elliott Trimmer; and two twin sisters, Florence "PeeWee" Pressel of New Oxford and Freda Hilty of Spring Grove. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at 10 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St., New Oxford, with the Rev. Steven W. Fauser as Celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, with a Rosary service at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 106 Carlisle St., New Oxford, PA 17350.
