HANOVER Patricia S. Yeiser, 86, met her eternal rest on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at home. She was the loving wife of the late Maurice S. Yeiser, Jr., to whom she was married 56 years until his death on March 4, 2007. She was born July 27, 1927, in Minneapolis, Minn., a daughter of the late Rev. Herman and Ruth (Hodge) Schmid. Mrs. Yeiser graduated from Durham North Carolina High School in 1946 and the Presbyterian School of Nursing in Pittsburgh in 1949, where she was class president. After graduating and prior to raising her family, she worked at the McGee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh. While living in Pittsburgh, she was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Glenshaw, where she was very active and was honored to sing in the choir, serve on church council, and serve on various committees. She also volunteered at St. Margaret's Hospital and delivered Meals on Wheels. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and later her family. After moving to Hanover in 2006, she was very active at St. Matthew Lutheran Church and was especially active in the Wednesday evening SAW group. She loved sewing, was an excellent seamstress, was an avid Steelers fan, and enjoyed going to the Guthrie Memorial Library in Hanover. She is survived by her children, Lynne Fauth and husband, David of Aiken, S.C., Rev. Dr. Daniel Yeiser and wife, Christy, York, and Tim Yeiser and wife, Risa of Encino, Calif.; brother, Paul Schmid of York; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Herman, Rev. David, and Joseph Schmid. A service to celebrate the life of Patricia Yeiser will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut St., Hanover, with the Rev. Kathryn Schroeder officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Yeiser, David Fauth, Thad Yeiser, John McCullough, John Kolander, and Larry Showers.
