SPRING GROVE Miriam E. Kimball, 88, died peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2014, at the home of her daughter following an extended illness. She was the loving wife of the late Foster J. Kimball, Jr., with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. Miriam was born October 25, 1925, in Hanover, the daughter of the late Cedric and Louise (Trostle) Hoover. Miriam graduated from the Eichelberger High School in 1943. She was a faithful member of Paradise (Holtzschwamm) Lutheran Church in Thomasville, owner and operator of a custom drapery business for over 25 years making drapes for prominent clients, an Avon representative for many years, and a cafeteria worker for Paradise Elementary School in the Spring Grove School District for many years. Miriam was a homemaker who loved to cook, watch her favorite NASCAR driver, Jeff Gordon (car #24) in races, gardening, and taking care of her house, which was her pride and joy. She held many fond memories of her travels to the Bahama's and Hawaii. Miriam is survived by and sadly missed by two sons, Stephen E. Kimball and his wife, Linda of York, and K. Scott Kimball and his wife, Sue of Dover; a daughter, Kimberly J. Staub and her husband, Jeffrey of Spring Grove; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Merle Hoover of New Oxford. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Louise Topper of Chambersburg. The funeral service for Mrs. Kimball will be held in thanksgiving for her life on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at 11 a.m. from the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, with her pastor, the Rev. Timothy Seitz-Brown, officiating. She will be laid to rest in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover. A viewing will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
