RICHMOND, VA John P. Leppo, 60, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, at Regional Memorial Medical Center of Richmond, Va. John was born March 29, 1954, in Hanover, the son of Esther E. Leppo (Shoemaker) and the late Raymond W. Leppo. John was a graduate of Delone Catholic High School 1972. He was a graduate of Duquesne University with a Bachelors of Science degree for class of 1976, and graduated from University of South Carolina 1978 with a Master's degree. He was employed as Associate Director of Facilities and Operations at Virginia Commonwealth University of Richmond, Va. John also volunteered for 12 years by serving on the board of GLSEN as President of the Richmond Chapter of GLSEN. In the past he had worked at the University of Wisconsin, University of North Dakota, and S.U.N.Y. College of Purchase, N.Y., in various Director positions of Student Leadership, Campus Life, Student Programs and Activities, and Student Housing. John is survived by his mother; his brother, Tom and his wife, Tammy of Bristow, Va.; his sister, Donna Gonzalez and her husband, Alicio of York; brother, Robert of New Oxford; his nephew and nieces, Brandon and Lauren Leppo, Caroline Slothour, and Virginia Slothour-Hudnall; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, PA 17350 on July 18 at 1 p.m. with burial following at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, New Oxford.
