HANOVER Janet Lee Meckley, 84, entered into God's eternal care Saturday, August 2, 2014, at the Brethren Home, New Oxford. Janet was the loving wife of Burnell E. Meckley, with whom she shared over 63 years of marriage. Born April 13, 1930, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Charles Folmer and Mary (McWilliams) Hoffman. Janet was a 1948 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Hanover. Janet was a member of New Hope Faith Community Church, Hanover. She was a homemaker and enjoyed antiquing, sewing, gardening and growing flowers, camping, and traveling. In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by her son, Daryl C. Meckley and his wife, Sharon M. of Hanover; daughter, Lynnette K. Meckley of Hanover; her grandchildren, Kari L. Eiker and husband, Jason of Gettysburg, and Laura A. Wagner and husband, Todd of Glenville; and her great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Austin, and Makenzie. A memorial service to celebrate Janet's life will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at New Hope Faith Community Church, 33 Sunday Drive, Hanover, with the Rev. Timothy J. Kielley officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Janet may be made to New Hope Faith Community Church, 33 Sunday Drive, Hanover, PA 17331.
