LITTLESTOWN Thelma H. Brandt, 98, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at the Gettysburg Lutheran Home. Her husband, Harry A. Brandt, died in 1990. She was born August 14, 1916, in Jersey City, N.J., the daughter of the late John and Mabel Webb Podmore. Thelma was a member the First Baptist of Gettysburg. She loved life and loved spending time with her family. Thelma is survived by four children, David E. Brandt and his wife, Ana of Italy and Romania, Judith Burns of Tulsa, Okla., Jean Hicks of Littlestown, and John R. Brandt and his wife, Kyle of Hamburg, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 30, at 1 p.m. at Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, with the Rev. David Dunn and the Rev. Michael Burns officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Online obituary and condolences available at
