HANOVER Robert "Bob" I. Nelson, died Friday, May 4, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of Mary A. "Bonnie" (Adamson) Nelson, his wife of 28 years. He was born April 21, 1925, in Fisher, W.Va., the son of the late Isaac P. and Lula J. (Watts) Nelson. Bob retired from Doubleday Book Co., Hanover, after 26 years of employment. He was a member of the BPOE Elks #763 Hanover, Fraternal Order of Eagles #1406 Hanover, and Moose Lodge #720 McSherrystown. Bob was a lifelong string musician, playing in several bands in different states, namely the "Country Memories" in Orlando, Fla., and the "Electrones" in Pennsylvania. In addition to his wife, Mary, Bob is survived by four daughters, Jane L. Leppo and her husband, Lynn of Levittown, Linda L. Rineman and her husband, Steven of Ware, Mass., Donna M. Fogle and her husband, Robert of Manassas, Va., and Sara M. Green and her husband, Frank of Tampa, Fla.; a son, David K. Nelson and his wife, Donna of Hanover; a stepson, Danny Moses and his wife, Irene of Hanover; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife of 23 years, Betty J. (Thieret) Nelson, and his second wife of 12 years, Virginia (Hesson) Nelson. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. The Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, is in charge of the arrangements.
