NEW OXFORD Garry R. Sponseller, 69, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Wanda F. (Fleshman) Sponseller. Garry was born April 9, 1943, in Adams Co., the son of the late Edward and Hilda (Hockensmith) Sponseller. Garry was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford, and retired in 1993 from Pfaltzgraff. Garry and Hilda were foster parents to 52 children, and he enjoyed watching his grandson race at Hunterstown Speedway, going to Lincoln Speedway, and going to auctions. In addition to his wife, Wanda, Garry is survived by two sons, Philip L. Sponseller and his wife, Terry, and Garry B. Sponseller and his wife, Jami, all of New Oxford; four grandchildren, Brian J. Sponseller, Kaylyn M. Sponseller, Kassi S. Sponseller, and Quincy E. Sponseller; and a sister, Jane Smith of New Oxford. He was predeceased by two brothers, Rodney and Larry Sponseller, and a sister, Darlene Rowland. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, with the Rev. Kenneth G. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Gettysburg. There will be no viewing. Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com
