HANOVER Martin L. "Marty" Miller, 62, passed away peacefully, after fighting a courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia, on Friday, November 16, 2012, at Hershey Medical Center. Born October 20, 1950, in Hanover, he was a son of the late Marlow L. and Helen M. (Chronister) Miller. Marty loved working on cars and anything related to cars but his one true passion was Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He loved to go block shooting, spending time with his dogs, and eating juicy steaks. Marty was an active member in many clubs and organizations including; Eagles, Hanover Home, Republican Club, AMVETS, McSherrystown Home, and the New Oxford Social Club. He is survived by his companion and soul mate of 26 years, Joan L. Hoff of New Oxford; a son, Jerome E. Miller and his companion, Noreen of York Haven; a daughter, Monica S. Roberts and her husband, Brian of Forrest Hill, Md., two brothers, Marlow Miller Jr. of Fort Meyers, FL., Robert C. Miller of Green Castle; and a sister, Marlene Reid of Frost Proof, FL. A service to celebrate the life of Marty will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Rose Cemetery, York. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made in Marty's memory to Wetzel Funeral Home to help defray the costs of the funeral service.
