HANOVER Franklin A. Ruby, Sr., 103, passed away at Transitions Health Care in Gettysburg, on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Mary T. Eckert, who passed away in 1955. Frank was born in Menges Mills, on August 24, 1909, and was the son of the late Anna (Senft) and Ammon Ruby. He worked as a weaver for Century Ribbon Mill and Revonah Spinning Mills. He was a member of Hanover Moose Lodge and Hanover Home Assoc. for many years, and a former member of St. Peter Lischey's Church in Spring Grove. He is survived by his son, Franklin A. Ruby, Jr. of Hanover; his daughters, Donna G. Lawyer and husband, Earl of Hanover, and Nancy M. Feeser of Florida; 18 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 32 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughters, Doris Underwood and Jacquelyn Clouser; six grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his brothers, Melvin and Kermit Ruby; and his sisters, Beulah Rice, Estella Therit, Effie Lippy, and Irma Hoover. A funeral service in celebration of his life will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service PC, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, with the Rev. Sarah Rentzel Jones officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service at St. Peter Lischey's Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
