ABBOTTSTOWN Marlin I. Myers Jr., 79, entered into God's eternal care Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Pauline B. (McMaster) Myers, who died March 11, 2012. Born November 19, 1933, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Marlin I. Myers Sr. and Ruth E. (Buck) Myers. Marlin was retired from Pinkerton and Shadd Security Services and was previously employed at P.H. Gladfelter Co. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford, the NRA, and was an avid hunter. Surviving are two sons, James Myers and his wife, Cindy of York and Kenneth Myers of Hanover; four grandchildren, Courtney Jones, Kristin Myers, Ryan Myers, and Eric Myers; two great-grandchildren, Luke and Kaylin Jones; and a brother, Steven Myers of New Oxford. He was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Myers and Marlin I. Myers III. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave. McSherrystown, with Rev. Steven Fauser officiating. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery, Hanover.
