HANOVER Kathleen Bessie Gobrecht, 86, entered into God's eternal care, Saturday, January 5, 2013, at the Home wood at Plum Creek. Kathleen was the loving wife of Harold G. Gobrecht with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. Born October 5, 1926, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Sterling T. Jones and Bessie R. (Geiman) Jones. Kathleen was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Littlestown. Kathleen retired from The Palms Dry Cleaning at 62 years of age. She also worked for Parker House in the 5 & 10. She worked at L.E. Boden Shoe Factory and packed cigars at Hysner's. She lived in Mt. Pleasant, Hanover for 57 years, where she enjoyed gardening, canning, and cross stitching quilts, etc. She also enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending winters in Florida, Texas and Arizona. In addition to her husband, Harold, Kathleen is survived by two children, Ned H. Gobrecht and wife, Stella and Karen M. (Gobrecht) Tome and husband David; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Tome and wife Kelsey, Rachel Tome, and Sarah Tome; two step-grandchildren, Chris Weeks and wife Doreen, and Marek Weeks; and five great-grandchildren; one sister, Geneva M. (Jones) Messinger. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Gena Gobrecht and Jodd Gobrecht. A funeral service to celebrate and remember Kathleen's life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday Christ United Church of Christ, 131 Christ Church Road, Littlestown, with her pastor, The Rev. Craig Arentz officiating. A time to view and share memories with the family will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Burial will be in St. Bartholomew's Cemetery, Hanover. Serving as casket-bearers will be Jeremiah Tome, Marek Weeks, Chris Weeks, David Tome, Carl Gobrecht and Glenn Gobrecht. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Kathleen may be made to Christ United Church of Christ, 131 Christ Church Road, Littlestown, PA 17340.
