HANOVER Charles J. Swartz, 81, went into God's eternal care on Friday, January 11, 2013, at Hanover Hall. He was the loving husband of the late Marsha (Stough) Swartz. He was born January 20, 1931, in York County, the son of the late Charles and Katherine (Flemming) Swartz. Charles is survived by his daughters, Verity Evans and Kathy Riley, both of Hanover; son, Jesse Swartz of Hanover; eight brothers and sisters, Betty Stewart of Westminster, Md., Nancy Brillhart of Hanover, Robert Swartz of Hanover, Doris Stoll of Mt. Holly Springs, Donna Lehigh of Hanover, Janet Starner of Gardners, Mary Witt of Carlisle, and Larry Swartz of Mt. Holly Springs; stepbrother, Larry Bankert of Mt. Holly Springs; seven grandchildren, Pamela Gordon, Sherry Kirk, Randy Riley, Hannah Evans, Olivia Evans, Quinn Evans, and Hudson Henry; and three great-grandchildren, Alexis Kirk, Caela Kirk, and Brett Kirk. He was preceded in death by two sons, David and Joshua Swartz; and four siblings, Henry Swartz, Rodger Swartz, Shirley Swartz, and Evelyn Henry. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lischey's Cemetery, Spring Grove.
