MCSHERRYSTOWN Kathleen A. "Kass" Stambaugh, 95, entered into God's eternal care Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Transitions Health Care in Gettysburg. She was the wife of Harry W. Stambaugh, who died Au gust 27, 1972. Born May 6, 1917, in McSherrystown, she was the daughter of the late Albert A. and Regina M. (Pohlman) Groft. Kass was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in McSherrystown. She loved doing word search, listening to country music, and watching her soap operas and game shows. Surviving are six children, Larry Miller and his wife, Patricia of Wesdt Virginia, Robert Stambaugh and his wife, Karen, Donald Stambaugh and his wife, Cynthia, Dennis Stambaugh and his wife, Jill, and William Stambaugh, all of New Oxford, and James Stambaugh and his wife, Suzanne of Littlestown; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Carroll Groft, Leo Groft, and Donald Groft, all of Hanover, Eva Gebhart of McSherrystown, and Jeanne Orndorff of Baltimore, Md. She was preceded in death by three children, Earl Miller, Mary Ann Miller, and Preston Stambaugh; and by six siblings, Regina, Paul, Francis, and Herbert Groft, Rita Herrell, and Doris Jones. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Annunciation Church in McSherrystown, with the Rev. Lawrence W. Sherdel officiating. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, McSherrystown. Friends and relatives will be received Monday 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with prayers at 8 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Lonnie, Troy, Patrick, and Leroy Stambaugh, Dennis Stambaugh, Jr., and Larry Miller, Jr. Contributions in memory of Kass may be made to Annunciation Church Memorial Fund, 26 N.
