MCSHERRYSTOWN Donald E. Shultz, 82, entered into God's eternal care Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Hanover Hall Nursing Center. He was the husband of Louise C. (Hockensmith) Shultz, who died March 8, 2010. Born November 26, 1930, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Mary (Runk) Shultz. Don was retired from the Bethlehem Mines Co. where he worked for many years. He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in McSherrystown, Hanover American Legion, McSherrystown Knights of Columbus, McSherrystown Fish & Game Assoc., and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Don enjoyed playing cards, listening to country music, and most of all spending time with his family. Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia "Cindy" Noel and her husband, Henry "Terry" of McSherrystown, and Deborah "Deb" Riley and her husband, Frank of Gettysburg; six grandchildren, Kevin Noel and his wife, Crystal, Jody Moyer and her husband, A.J., Brian Noel and his wife, Nicki, Cory Riley and his wife, Jen, Mandy Riley, and Dustin Riley and his wife, Kelly; 10 great-grandchildren, Tara, Taylor, Colby, Erin, Luke, McKinsey, Landon, Derek, Ty, and Tyson; two siblings, Marion Furr of New Oxford and Nevin Shultz of Hanover; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald E. Shultz Jr.; and by three siblings, Sterling and Robert Shultz and Betty Wildasin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday at Annunciation Church in McSherrystown, with the Rev. Lawrence W. Sherdel officiating. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, McSherrystown. Friends and relatives will be received Thursday 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with prayers at 8 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Noel, Frank Riley, Kevin Noel, Brian Noel, Cory Riley, Dustin Riley, and A.J. Moyer, In lieu of flowers, contributions in remembrance of Don may be made to Annunciation Church Memorial Fund, 26 N. Third St. McSherrystown, PA 17344; or VNA/Hospice 440 N.
