NEW OXFORD Carolyn L. Thomas, 83, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March, 13, 2013, at home. She was the loving wife of Rev. Clarence E. Thomas who died on June 9, 2011. Born April 7, 1929, in Long Beach, Calif., she was a daughter of the late Loyal G. and Irene E. (Seeds) Perry. Carolyn was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the Church of God, New Oxford. Carolyn was a 1949 graduate of L.I.F.E. Bible College, Los Angeles, Calif., where she met her husband of 62 years. Carolyn worked at God's Meal Barrel, Hanover for many years attending to the needs of the less fortunate and in her younger years, enjoyed crocheting. Her survivors include three children; Sharon P. Haifley and her husband Michael, New Oxford, Daniel P. Thomas and his wife LeAnn, Arlington, Va., and Jeffrey L. Thomas and his wife Bernadette, Hanover; a sister Elaine McIntire, Arizona; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating the life of Carolyn Thomas will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA 17331 with the Rev. John Goff officiating assisted by Carolyn's grandson, Nathan Haifley. A time to express condolences and share memories with the family will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
