NEW OXFORD Christopher W. Yealy, 61, entered into God's eternal care Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Peggy A. (Klunk) Yealy, his wife of 35 years. Born September 14, 1951, in Hanover, he was the son of the late William A. Yealy, Jr. and Dorothy M. (Favorite) Yealy. Chris was a 1969 graduate of Delone Catholic High School in McSherrystown and a 1973 graduate of Penn State University. He was employed as a construction manager at Parsons. Chris was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford, the Penn State Alumni Assoc., McSherrystown Home Assoc., McSherrystown Knights of Columbus, McSherrystown Fish & Game Assoc., and a life member of SAVES. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his "girls". Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Melissa M. Yealy of Carlisle and Courtney C. Yealy of New Oxford; and five siblings, Wilma M. Noel of Hanover, Andrea M. Smith of New Oxford, Charles W. "Chuck" Yealy of McSherrystown, Mark W. "Harry" Yealy of New Oxford, and Patrick W. Yealy of Hanover. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel W. Yealy and David W. "Crock" Yealy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Annunciation Church, 26 N. Third St., McSherrystown, with the Rev. Steven W. Fauser and the Rev. Lawrence W. Sherdel concelebrating. Friends and relatives will be received for a viewing Monday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with prayers at 8 p.m. Burial will be private.
