HANOVER Elmo H. Brown, Jr., 88, loving husband of Lucille J. Goellner Brown of Hanover, entered into God's eternal care Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Hanover Hall Nursing Center. Born July 31, 1924, in Hannibal, Mo., he was the son of Elmo H. Brown, Sr. and Frances A. Yancey Brown. He was a 1942 graduate of Jennings High School in St. Louis and attended Washington University also in St. Louis. Mr. Brown was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired in 1986 as a district manager for the Charles Bruning Co., where he had worked for 34 years. In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by a daughter, Betty L. Brown of Hanover; a sister, Betty Y. Sitter of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and his "grand-dog", Buddy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover celebrated by The Rev. James E. Lease.
