SPRINGFIELD, MO Robert J. Ulrich, 65, passed away on March 16, 2013. Born March 23, 1947, he was the son of the late James Ulrich and the late Catherine Wisotzkey, both of Littlestown. Robert was a 1965 graduate of Emmitsburg, Md., High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his service he went to Oklahoma and completed his degree at Central State University in Edmond, Okla. After graduating he moved to Kansas City, Mo., where he taught history and coached basketball and track. He was presently employed as an insurance agent. He was the husband of Susan Alfred, his wife of 40 years, who passed away in 2009. Surviving are his wife, Edith Williams of Missouri; one son, Jamie, daughter-in-law, Jennifer, and grandson, Preston, all of Franklin, Kan. He is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Bible of Littlestown and Donna Tyler of McSherrystown; and nieces and nephews. A celebration of Bob's life was held on April 3 at St. James Episcopal Church in Springfield, Mo. Interment was held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
