YORK Dorothy Marie "Dot" (Chronister) Weaver, 96, formerly of Glen Rock, New Freedom, and Shrewsbury, was a remarkable woman who led an equally remarkable life. She passed away peacefully at the Manor Care Nursing Home in East York at 9:57 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013. Dorothy was born in Adams County, the fourth child of ten and second daughter of the late Curtis E. and Cora A. (Freed) Chronister on August 1, 1916. She married the late Frank X, Sr. on August 14, 1937 and gave birth to eleven children. She previously worked at both the New Freedom and Hungerford Canning Factories, before retiring in 1982 from AMP Inc. in Shrewsbury. Predeceased by her husband, Frank, on June 22, 1989, her parents, sisters, Alice Chronister and Ethel Altland, and brothers John, Woodrow, Fred and Bill Chronister, she is survived by sister, Nadine Simpson of Hanover, and brothers, Walter of Boiling Springs and Chester Chronister Sr. of York Springs. She is also survived by eleven children; Eva Mae Weir and her husband Jim of Dover, Shirley A. Indictor and her husband Fred of Philadelphia, Patricia F. King of Wisconsin, Frank X. "Jerry" Jr. and his wife Peggy of Ohio, Thomas A. and his wife Linda of New Jersey, Dennis J. and his wife Judy of Spry, Kenneth D. and his wife Mary of York, Jeanne M. DiLorenzo of Stewartstown, Ret. AF Sgt. Michael E. of Delaware, Theresa E. Streight and her husband Rick of Maryland and John R. Weaver of Arizona; 29 grandchildren; 105 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St, New Oxford, with Rev. Steven Fauser as Celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
