NEW OXFORD Alvin D. Bohrer, Sr., 67, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, died at home Friday, June 21, 2013. He was the husband of Donna M. (Sadler) Bohrer, his wife of 31 years. Alvin was born June 3, 1946, in Cumberland, Md., the son of the late Eldridge Roderick and Pauline Elizabeth (Moyers) Bohrer. He was a Vietnam War Veteran serving with the U.S. Navy, a life member of the New Oxford Social & Athletic Club, and a member of the Eagles Lodge 1562 Gettysburg. He retired in 2009 from Helicopter Applicators in Gettysburg. In addition to his wife, Donna, Alvin is survived by a daughter, Crystal M. Bechtel of Hanover; a son, Alvin D. Bohrer, Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Hanover; three stepsons, Chad A. Forbes of New Oxford, Jeremy D. Forbes of New Oxford, and Monty L. Forbes of New Oxford; seven grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; one brother, Roland S. Bohrer of East Berlin; one sister, Harriet J. Laughman of York Springs; and an uncle, Joseph Bohrer of Redding, Calif. He was predeceased by a stepson, Clinton J.T. Forbes, and a sister, Faye L Bixler. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 11 a.m. from the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, with Dr. Jerry W Dixon, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover. A viewing will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the
