FAYETTEVILLE Anna B. Phillips, 81, 6375 Chambersburg Road, died Monday evening, July 15, 2013, at the Village of Laurel Run. Anna's husband, George Clair Phillips, Jr. died in 2005. She was born August 4, 1931, in Hanover, the daughter of the late Harold and Adela Lentz Bankert. For many years she assisted her husband running the family chicken farm in York Springs. She was also a waitress at various establishments in the area. Anna enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for her family and friends. Anna was a member of the Mt. Victory United Methodist Church in Gardners. She was a Girl Scout leader in York Springs. She was a member of the New Oxford Eastern Star where she had served as a Matron. At the Village of Laurel Run she was named to be a member of the Peer Group. Anna enjoyed cross-stitching, crafts, and ceramics, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Phillips is survived by a daughter, Sharon Brown and her husband, Gary of Gettysburg; a son, Thomas Phillips and his wife, Linda of Gardners; six grandchildren, Rick Whisler and his wife, Jen, Gary Brown, Jr., Annie Davis and her husband, Shawn, Sylvia Hess and her husband, Larry, Alicia Allen and her husband, Dan, and Amanda Brickey; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harold Bankert of Florida, William Bankert of Hanover, and Cecil Bankert of Collingdale; and a sister, Barbara Brodbeck of Wellsville. She was predeceased by a grandson, Michael Whisler; a brother, John Bankert; and a sister, Imogene Bankert. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 19, at 11 a.m. from Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, with Rev. Kenneth Reid officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg. There will be a viewing at the funeral home of Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
