HANOVER Marie S. Ecker, 81, entered into God's eternal care, Monday, August 26, 2013, at the Morning Glory Personal Care Home, Littlestown. Born March 17, 1932. in St. Louis, Mo, Marie was the daughter of the late David J. and Frances (Soltysiak) Whalen, Sr. Marie was the loving wife of the late Ferdinand C. Ecker who died July 30, 1994. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover. Marie is survived by three daughters; Lorraine L. Gebhart and her husband Eric F. of Littlestown, Deborah M. Mayhew and her husband Lloyd W. of Fairfield, and Michele A. Deatrick and her husband John H. of New Oxford; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her brother, David J. Whalen, Jr. and his wife Valerie of Chicago, IL. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut St., Hanover, with the Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marie's memory to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut St., Hanover, PA 17331. Serving as casketbearers will be Eric Gebhart, Lloyd Mayhew, John Deatrick, Eric Fuhrman, Matthew Fuhrman and Jay Smith.
