HANOVER Dolores M. Kessler, 84, entered into God's eternal care Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at the Hanover Hospital. Born March 16, 1929, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Delphia and Mary (Wildasin) Sterner. Dolores was the loving wife of the late Wilmer F. Kessler, who died June 11, 2003. Dolores was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Littlestown, The Silver Sneakers group at Club 2000 and the Pace Setters of the North Hanover Mall. Dolores retired after 36 years of service as a packer for Utz Quality Foods, Inc. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family. Dolores is survived by one daughter, Pam J. Kemper and husband Dave of Hanover; one granddaughter, Jennifer L. Sanders and husband Scott of Hanover; one great-granddaughter, Ellie; and two brothers, Ray Sterner of Abbottstown, and James Sterner of Atlanta, Ga. She was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Mummert; and one brother, Gerald Sterner. A service to celebrate and remember Dolores's life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, with the Rev Craig Arentz and the Rev. James Ayers officiating. Burial will be in Christ United Church of Christ Cemetery, Littlestown. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2013, at the funeral home. Serving as casketbearers will be Scott Sanders, Dane Graham, Bob Marchio, Ray Sterner, the Rev. James Ayers, and Tom Eltz. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dolores's memory to Christ United Church of Christ, 131 Christ Church Road, Littlestown, PA 17340.
