Dale R. Felix Jr. Obituary
CARROLL, IA Dale R. Felix Jr., 65, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013, at his home. Born September 4, 1948, in Bonneauville, he was the son of Gladys (Smith) Felix of Bonneauville and the late Dale R. Felix, Sr. Dale was a 1966 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, McSherrystown. Following high school he attended Shippensburg University where he played baseball, then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. Dale lived in Nebraska where he worked in restaurant management prior to moving to Iowa in 2008. He enjoyed following his favorite sports teams, the Philadelphia Phillies, Penn State Nittany Lions, and Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, and sharing his knowledge on the baseball field as coach for baseball and softball teams. Dale is survived by three sons, Chad Felix and wife, Amanda, Dale R. Felix, III and wife, Jackie Alba, and Michael Felix and wife, Kacie Carr; two daughters, Farrah Peterson, and Jennifer Bendgen and husband, Jason; 12 grandchildren; six siblings, James F. Felix and wife, Loy of St. Maries, Idaho, David J. Felix and wife, Cindy of Bonneauville, Ronald M. Felix of Crab Orchard, Ky., Catherine M. McMaster of Bonneauville, and Diane L. Adams and husband, Dennis, and Linda J. Zepp and husband, Ron, all of York Springs; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Bonneauville, with the Rev. Peter DiTomasso officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery with military honors provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Friends and relatives will be received at the church Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. Contributions in memory of Dale may be made to , York/Adams Memorial Fund, 924-N Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
