EAST BERLIN Lamarr M. "Mike" Laughman, 62, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014, at Hershey Medical Center from complications of a heart transplant. He was the husband of Janice B. (Bankert) Laughman to whom he was married 37 years. Born June 24, 1951, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Kenneth A. and Miriam E. (Laughman) Laughman. Mike received the Vietnam Service Medal while proudly serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was formerly employed by Shultz Quality Foods in Hanover and was the cook at Thunder Hill Hunting Club. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sprint car racing, and especially spending time with family and friends. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are six children, Gena, Amanda, Michael, April, Kimberly, and Christian; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and seven siblings, Keith and Troy Laughman, Rose Engelhart, Tonda Zinn, Vanessa Hodge, Cindy Runkle, and Bobbi Jo Snyder. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bart and Jason Laughman. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with Pastor Ben Leese officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery with military honors provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Friends and relatives will be received Friday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
