NEW OXFORD Vincent G. Clifford, 66, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Hershey Medical Center. Born November 6, 1947, in Shamokin, PA, he was a son of the late Girard Richard and Nellie (Quinn) Clifford. Vincent joined the Monastery of St. Vincent Archabby in Latrobe at the age of 13 and stayed until he was 17 when he joined the U.S. Army. Vincent was a U.S. Army veteran who served with the 1st Aviation Brigade Delta Hawks in the Vietnam War. His unit was recently awarded a combat medal. Upon his return, Mr. Clifford was a 1977 graduate of Indiana University of PA Vincent retired from Leonhardt as a machinist where he worked for 6 years. He was also a lifetime member of the Hanover VFW Post #2506. Surviving are his brothers, Philip Clifford of Las Vegas, NV and his former wife Shirley of El Paso TX, Richard Clifford and companion Julie Burgeon of Long Beach, CA, Paul Clifford of New Oxford, PA, Neil Clifford of New Oxford, and Denis Clifford and wife Bonita of York Springs, PA. Also surviving are his niece and nephews, Kimberly and Jeffrey Clifford of El Paso, TX, and Philip Clifford, II. of Germany. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA, where his parents are buried. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Vincent's memory may be made to the National Vietnam Veterans Foundation, 1919 NE 45th St., Ste., 223, Ft.
