John L. Button(1936 - 2013)

WARSAW - John L. Button, 77, of Prospect Street, passed away Friday (Dec. 27, 2013) at the East Side Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

He was born in Wellsville, Jan. 15, 1936, son of the late Roy and Mabel Edwards Button.

A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, John worked as a potato farmer with McCormick Farms for over 20 years, before retiring in 1996. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and a hard working family man who loved spending time with his grandchildren.

John was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary O'dell Button, who passed away in October of 1990; two daughters, Pauline Gayhart and Suzanne Button; three brothers, Frank, Roy and Arthur Button; and three sisters, Mary Ann Stalzer, Shirley Mills, and Helen Dungan.

Survivors include a son, John (Laurie) Button of Warsaw; two daughters, Melinda (Terry Allen) Morris of Franklinville and Kathy (Robert Sled) Button of East Concord; a sister, Diane Grimm; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends of John may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St., Warsaw. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, with Reverend Tom Horner of the Castile Baptist Church as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood.
