Glenn S. Wambold Obituary
HARRISBURG, Pa. - Glenn S. Wambold, 89, of Harrisburg, passed away on Dec. 1, 2013.

He was the son of the late Hemon and Mary Wambold. He was born in Sparta, N.Y., and was a U.S. World War II Army veteran. He received his master's degree from Penn State University and retired as a bridge engineer from Gannett Fleming.

He married Mildred Orris Engle in 1973 with whom he enjoyed traveling, camping, square dancing and many other activities. He loved his family and spending time with them. He was an outdoorsman, liked to observe wildlife, was an avid gardener and hunter, and enjoyed reading and researching family history and genealogy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred E. Wambold; his first wife, Eleanor K. Wambold; his daughter, Kay Wambold Burkhart; his two sisters and three brothers.

Surviving are children, Glenn A. Wambold and wife, Lecta; Jeanne E. Krause and husband, Lynn; Robert M. Engle and wife, Josie; Jeffrey W. Engle and wife, Bonnie; John M. Engle and wife, Carol; Carole R. Engle and husband, Nathan; Janet E. Parker and husband, Philip; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 1200 Walnut Bottom Road, Suite 302, Carlisle, PA 17015 or the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, 1701 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
