Helen E. Booth Obituary
HORNELL - Helen E. Booth, formerly of Crosby Street in Hornell, passed away Oct. 2, 2013, at age 97.

Helen was born April 5, 1916, in Olean and was raised on a farm outside of Cuba. She graduated from Cuba High School and married Clifford (Kip) Booth, who died in 2002. They moved to Hornell in 1948 and raised three children, who survive her: Kay Wright, Steven Booth, both of New Port Richey, Fla., and Tom Booth of Mulberry, Fla.

She has 12 grandchildren, 15-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Hornell and was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ivanhoe Chapter in Hornell. After her kids were raised, she went to work as an assistant in the office of the president of Alfred State College and retired as a secretary to the president in 1983.

After retirement, she moved to Florida, where she loved having her kids and grandkids near her. Six years ago, she moved into an active retirement home, where she loved all of the activities and social outings there. Last year, she attended a Tampa Bay Rays game to see in person the team she watched faithfully on TV.

She kept busy and she was sharp and alert right up until a very short illness took her to be with her Lord and Savior. She was a friendly and warm person and a great mom who will be missed by all.
