Roger Carney Obituary
SPARTA - Roger Carney, 75, passed away early Sunday morning (Jan. 19, 2014) at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris following a long illness.

He was born in Dansville, a son of the late Edwin and Dorothy (Carney) Wampole. On April 6, 1958, he was married to Rosalyn "Rosie" Crane, who predeceased him on May 30, 2011. He was also predeceased by a son, Darwin Carney.

Roger was a machinist at Gleason Works in Rochester and Foster Wheeler in Dansville, a groundskeeper at the Conesus Country Club, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Mike) Malone of Dansville, and Darlene (Randy) Braun of Fowlerville, two sons, Gordon Carney of Sparta, and Rodney "Deke" (Kendra) Carney of Ossian; three sisters, Lois Harrington of Nunda, Shirley (Larry) Murphy of Wayland, and Kathy Harvey of Rome; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren

Friends may call Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. at the Scottsburg United Methodist Church, where services will be held at the completion of calling hours, with the Rev. David Hotchkiss officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Scottsburg.

Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville.
