Frances I. Mehlenbacher Obituary
COHOCTON – Frances I. Mehlenbacher, 88, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 14, 2013, at McAuley Manor in Hornell where she had resided for the past several months.

Frances was born June 28, 1925, in Perkinsville, the daughter of Clyde and Pearl (Lander) Isaman. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Perkinsville.

Frances married at the age of 16 to the "love of her life," Raymond Mehlenbacher on Dec. 17, 1941, in Perkinsville. Together they celebrated over 70 years of marriage prior to Ray passing away in July of 2012. Frances and Ray resided in Cohocton their entire time together, owning and operating Ray's Service Station for more than 50 years. Family was very important to Frances as she was totally devoted to her husband, their daughter, Kaye "Cookie" and their business. She was a great cook with fruit cakes and brown paper bag apple pies as her specialty. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all.

Frances was predeceased by her parents, Clyde and Pearl Isaman; her step-father, Ralph Mehlenbacher; her husband, Raymond Mehlenbacher; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Carl Flickner; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Recktenwald, Mike Mehlenbacher; brother and sister in-law, Alvie and Theda Mehlenbacher; and sister in-law, Wilma Mehlenbacher.

She is survived by her daughter, Kaye "Cookie" (John) Clifford of Loon Lake; her granddaughter, Bridget (Mark) Hinkle of Hanover, Pa.; her great-granddaughter, Haleigh Hinkle; her sister, Donna Recktenwald of Dansville; sister in-law, Hazel Mehlenbacher; brother-in-law Charlie Mehlenbacher; brother and sisters-in-law Clinton and Laura Mehlenbacher, and Donald and Alma Oas; along with several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at St Peter's United Church of Christ in Perkinsville, Saturday at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions in Frances I. Mehlenbacher's memory may be made to St. Peter's United Church of Christ, county Route 90, Wayland, NY, 14572.
