Ronald Cuddeback Obituary

HUNT - Ronald J. Cuddeback Sr., 81, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Bath N.Y. veterans facility on Monday, Dec. 8, 2014.
After a lengthy illness and hard fought battle Ron passed away alongside his beloved partner of 42 years, Nancy Lee Clark as well as their precious four-legged hairball buddy Mr. Pud and the wonderful, loving, caring staff of the facility.
Ron was born on March 22, 1933 in North Hornell to the late Alfred and Rose (Becker) Cuddeback.
Ron was predeceased by three sisters, Rose Marie Cuddeback, Dorothy Murray, and Elizabeth Bridge.
Ron attended Canaseraga Central School; He left to join the Army. Ron was very proud of his service to our country. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving from Oct. 19, 1950 to Sept. 29, 1953. Ron was a paratrooper serving in the 11th Airborne 187th R.C.T. in Korea and the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. He trained at Fort Dix, N.J. and Fort Benning, Ga.
Before retirement, Ron worked for Alliance Automations Systems in Rochester as a welding supervisor and estimator. He also worked at Walt and Krenzer in Rochester and Foster Wheeler Corp. in Dansville.
Ron was a longtime member of Dansville American Legion Post 87 and Disabled American Vets. In his healthier years he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and being out in the open country air puttering around on his tractor and keeping up with the lawn mowing.
Ron will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
In addition to Nancy Lee Clark and Mr. Pud, he is survived by a daughter, Sherry (Shirley Ann) Ashley of Columbia, S.C.; a son, Ronald J. (Lisa) Cuddeback Jr. of Simpsonville, S.C.; two grandsons, Justin and Nicholas; granddaughter Sasha; great-grandson Wynton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services and burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Mann Funeral Home in Nunda, N.Y.

I miss you more than words can say. I will miss you always. You will be in my heart forever and always. I am trying to focus on all the wonderful years we had together, and the mountains of memories, but it is so so very hard. I know you are in a better place, and with people that you loved and miss, and in no more pain. I miss them too. I know you are watching over Pudder and me. Like I told you in the hospital...make sure you save a spot in heaven for both of us, we will see you later. Until then...Love you will all my heart Babe. Puppy smooches and hugs from Mr. Pud too.
