James D. Loper, 80, Mosinee, died Monday, October 28, 2013 at Saint Clare's Hospital , Weston.
Jim was born June 11, 1933 to the late Milton and Martina (VerHaagh) Loper in Antigo. He married Marjorie Hitz on November 3, 1973 in Mendota, IL. She preceded him in death in September 2013.
Jim served his country honorably in the Merchant Marines, the U.S. Army and later in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. He was employed with the former Drott Manufacturing Company in Schofield and Mosinee Papers. Jim was passionate about traveling out West with his wife and family.
Survivors include his two daughters, Krin and Lane Gresen, Weston and Debbie and Ronald, Sr., Wolff, Milwaukee; five grandchildren Cody, Jordyn, Gabby Gresen and Nicole and Ron Jr., Wolff; five great-grandchildren Cole, Colin, Connor, Josalynn and Alexandria and several sisters. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 6205 Alderson Street, Weston. Rev. Raymond Connor will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Brainard Funeral Home-Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston and again on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter.
