Wolff, Orville R.

Orville R. Wolff, 89, Weston died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Wausau Aspirus Hospital.

Orville was born May 9, 1924 in Wittenberg, WI to the late John and Emma (Polley) Wolff. He married Dolores Stenson on December 26, 1953 in Wittenberg. He served his country honorably, first in the Merchant Marines then in the U.S. Army in the Korean War during the occupation of Japan and throughout the Korean War. He was employed with Briggs and Stratton Engines until his retirement in 1986. Orville was a loyal Milwaukee Brewer supporter, in their good times and bad. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially since his retirement. He enjoyed his yard, landscaping, fishing and deer hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores; one son, Lyle (special friend Kathleen Flynn); two grandchildren Heidi Wolff and Heather Johnson; two great grandchildren Emma Wolff and Ellie Johnson; one brother, John Wolff Jr. of Rosholt; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Wallace.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1351 South Grand Avenue, Schofield. Rev. Walter Davidson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Brainard Funeral Home - Everest Chapel, Weston is assisting the family with arrangements.
