Morgan A. Waldrop, age 76 and resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at his home.
Morgan Albert Waldrop was born on January 8, 1937 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. He was the only child of Mance Watterson (Pat) Waldrop and Virgie Faye Wilson Waldrop. He graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1955. He attended Rice University in Houston, Texas, graduating in 1964 with a Ph.D. in Physics. He was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company in 1964.
On September 30, 1967, Morgan and Martha Jane Griggs were married in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, Mance (Pat) and Virgie Faye Wilson Waldrop; and his son, Jeffery Morgan Waldrop.
Surviving Morgan are his three daughters, Mrs. Traci Waldrop Webster of Provo, Utah, Mrs. Susan Waldrop Bridgeford of Orlando, Florida, and Miss Deborah Waldrop of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He also had six grandchildren, Tyler Webster, Kira Webster, Jenna Webster, all of Provo, Utah, Morgan Nicole Waldrop, Makenna Ann Waldrop and Campbell Elizabeth Waldrop, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Morgan retired from Phillips Petroleum Company in 2002 after 40 years of service.
He attended church at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bartlesville.
Morgan loved to spend time with his family and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave., Bartlesville.
Services will be held on Monday at 1:30 PM in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bartlesville. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 6600 S. Yale Ave., Suite 700, Tulsa, OK 74136.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
