Kemp, Monte William  
Monte William Kemp passed away at age 94 on July 15th, 2015. Born in Enid Oklahoma to Frances and Russell Kemp, he grew up in the small town of Billings, Oklahoma where he enjoyed hunting with his brother, Max, playing high school football and working the soda fountain in his Dad's drug store. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1943 and became a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity in 1939. He served as First Lieutenant, Field Artillery of the 35th Replacement Battalion during WWII. In 1946 he married Elizabeth Ann Freeland. They raised 3 daughters, enjoyed friends, travel and shared a love of music together for more than 69 years. He is beloved by those he left behind, including wife Elizabeth Ann Kemp, daughters Becky Wadsworth, Christy Beck and Judy Kemp, sons in law Eddie Wadsworth and David Gardner, granddaughter Jessie Molina, grandson Ryan Beck and great grandchildren James and Michael Arce. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday July 27, 2015 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Steve Griffith of the Cornerstone Hospice officiating. Inurnment will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday July 29, 2015 in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery at Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma , with Chaplain Forrest Kirk, of the VA Medical Center in Muskogee officiating. Full Military Honors will be presented at the Graveside by the Muskogee American Legion Post #15.
