Aurora Villarreal Barajas, 94 years old, entered into external rest on February 9, 2014. Aurora was a Christian and a member of the Baptist faith who is now in Heaven with her Lord and Savior. She was born in Bartlesville, OK on February 8, 1920 the 3rd oldest child of sixteen children born to her mom, Josefa Rodriguez Villarreal and father, Tomas Hernandez Villarreal. She was raised in Dewey, OK until she married in 1940.
Aurora is survived by her children, Greg Heredia, Brenda Heredia, Frank Villarreal and Belinda Vaca. Sisters, Lucy Marshall, Clara Bramlett, Ortencia Macheras, Mary Brown, Rachel Antle and Armida Villarreal, brothers, Armando Villarreal, Oscar Villarreal and Raymundo Villarreal. She was blessed with three grandsons, five granddaughters, fifteen great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, numerous nephews, nieces and many loving cousins.
She is preceded in death by her loving son, Thomas Heredia, parents, Josefa Rodriguez Villarreal and Tomas Hernandez Villarreal, sisters, Manuela Hurtado, Tomasita Sampripa Heard, brothers, Gilbert Villarreal, Paul Villarreal, BenitoVillarreal and Rudolfo Villarreal, husbands, Manuel Heredia, Arturo Vaca and Augustine Barajas.
During World War II she worked in Kansas as "Rosie the Riveter" on the B-52. Her small size helped her squeeze into small areas of the B-52's. She lived and worked in Chicago for 30 years at Goldblatts as a store manager before retiring to Mission, TX in 1994.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 14, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Walker Brown Funeral Home, Bartlesville, OK. A Memorial Service to celebrate Aurora's 94 years of full life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Walker Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pastor Dr. Don Coleman of Highland Park Baptist Church officiating. Pall bearers are brothers, Armando Villarreal, Oscar Villarreal and Raymundo Villarreal and Sergio A. Lopez her youngest grandson, Angel Hernandez and Gary Eulenfield.
