Charles Michael Day, 57, of Wann, Ok, died Sunday in the VA Medical Center in Muskogee.
Chuck was born September 26, 1955 in Caney, KS the son of Dick H. Day and Sophia G. (Dragieff) Day. He was raised in the Wann area and attended grade school in the Antioch School and graduated from Wann High School in 1973. Chuck served during the Vietnam War
as a helicopter mechanic with the United States Marine Corps
and was stationed in the Philippines, Okinawa, Japan and on several ships. After his military service he served with the National Guard and was self-employed in the Oil Fields. Chuck was united in marriage with Kim J. Brown on April 7, 1994 in Harrison, AR.
Chuck loved shooting his guns, gun repair and hunting occasionally. He loved being a home body and time spent with family. He will be dearly missed.
Chuck is survived by his wife Kim Jo Day of the home, his mother Sophia Day of Wann, three children, Dalina Egan of Bowering, Aaron Day and his wife Ashley of Wann, and Haley Day of Tulsa, three grandchildren, Anthony and Alanah Bennett of Bowering and Derrick Day of Wann, one brother, Richard Day and his wife Betty of Wann, three sisters, Linda Sabatino of Florida, Nancy Stark and her husband Bill of Maryland and Janette Brown of South Coffeyville and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Dick H. Day.
