Mr. Denton C."Denny" Fentress, 76, of Bartlesville, died at 2:32 A.M. on Thursday.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dick Smith, nephew of Mr. Fentress officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Coffeyville, Kansas under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mr. Fentress was born on August 28, 1937 at Burley, Idaho to Claude W. and Mary Wilda (Arnett) Fentress. He came with his parents as a young boy to Altamont, Kansas where he attended school, graduating from the Labette County High School at Altamont. He later attended the Coffeyville Community College at Coffeyville Kansas, where he graduated with an Associate's Degree in Chemistry.
He was employed for a number of years first by Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, and lived here and in Pawhuska for several years, where he was known for his work in catalyst research.
He later was employed by the Huntsman Chemical Company, where he retired from in 2002. He was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Alloway on April 13, 1957 at Tulsa, Oklahoma, and they made their home first in Owasso, Oklahoma a various other communities where they lived as he traveled with his work, including Littleton, Colorado, and finished his career with the Huntsman Chemical Company in Austin, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altamont, Kansas.
Mr. Fentress was dedicated to his work, his family, and his grandchildren. His hobbies were enjoying his grandchildren, his lake home, and sail boating, boating, and fishing.
Mr. Fentress is survived by his wife Shirley Ann Fentress of the home, by a daughter; Lisa Denise Fentress of Bethesda, Maryland, two sons Tommy Dale Fentress of Caney, Kansas and Jay Dee Fentress of Blossom, Texas, and by four grandchildren; Craig Fentress and Beth Fentress of Caney, Kansas, and Seth Fentress of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Tristan Fentress of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and by a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Claude W. and Mary Wilda Fentress, and four brothers Dean, Daryl, Duane"Butch", and Donald "Donnie" Fentress.
