Irwin Duane Wakeley(1934-2013)

Duane Wakeley passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013 at East Cross United Methodist Church with Reverend Chad Perceful officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Military rites will be presented by American Legion Post #105 Honor Guard. The family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 22th at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
Irwin Duane Wakeley was born October 25, 1934 in Beaver, PA to Irwin and Ina Wakeley. He received his Bachelor's Degree from the Carnegie Institute of Technology and was a member of Beta Theta Pi. He married Nita Coates on July 19, 1997 in Bartlesville. As an employee of Zinc Corporation of America, he retired after 43 years of dedicated service.
Duane was a faithful member of East Cross United Methodist Church where he taught Upper Room Sunday School and Disciple Bible Study. As an active member of Boy Scouts, he was involved with developing the Youth of American. Being a father and family educator, he was dedicated to the task of preparing his three children for college. Failure was not an option for Duane. He was non judgmental and always there to show support, encourage everyone and always had a positive outlook on life.
Duane is survived by his wife Nita of Bartlesville. One son, John Wakeley of Hookstown, PA, two daughters; Barbara and husband Indar Jagnarine of West Palm Beach, FL and Ruth and husband Bill Ware of Tuscumbia, AL. Son, Kevin Kidd and Amy of Watonga, OK and daughter, Tania Kidd of Palm Desert, CA. He was blessed with eleven grandchildren; Sandi, Erica, Selena, Erin, Tyler, Darin, Anisha, Grace, Garnett, Brianna, Matthew and four great grandchildren; Isaac, Ryker, Dominic and Avery. One sister, Deloris and husband Leon Dowlin of Beaver, PA along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Duane was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy C. Wakeley.
