JAMES L. SCHOOLING (1919-2012)

James L. Schooling, 93, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012.
Jim was a faithful servant of the Lord who will always be remembered for his extraordinary kindness and giving spirit. He was born on July 11, 1919, to Ethel and Ralph Schooling. He married Martha Leahy on July 12, 1941. She preceded him in death in 1976.
Jim retired in 1980 after 34 years with Cities Service Oil Company. He was a WWII Navy veteran, and a founding member of the Pawhuska Elks Lodge, where he served as the Secretary for over 30 years. At the Elks Lodge he donated countless hours, and was particularly interested in programs that benefited the local youth. He was recognized by the Oklahoma State Legislature for his years of devotion to the Drug Free Youth Programs.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and continued to remain active in the church and assist them with their bookkeeping until his death at age 93. He was blessed by countless friends and caregivers in the community who looked after him. They were blessed in return by his joyful spirit.
Jim leaves behind three sons: Jim Schooling and wife Nancy; Michael Schooling and wife Charlene; Joseph Schooling and wife Wanda; and one daughter Mary Nelson and husband Jack. He adored his nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. They adored their PaPa in return.
