Mrs. Josephine Beatrice Medina, 78, of Hulbert, Oklahoma and formerly of Bartlesville, died at 12:01 A.M. Monday, February 18, 2013 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.
Funeral services for Mrs. Medina will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, February 22, 2013 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services and cremation are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mrs. Medina was born in Washington County, Oklahoma on July 15, 1934 the daughter of James and Hazel Mae (Sears) Walker. She grew up and received her education at Ochelata and graduated from high school there. She was employed at the Crystal Creamery in Bartlesville and was married to Salvador Joseph Medina on October 3, 1953 in Bartlesville. They made their home in Bartlesville and she was employed at May Brothers Clothing Store and at Cities Service Oil Company in Bartlesville. She later began her employment with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Tulsa (which later became AT & T) until her retirement in the mid 1990's. Mr. and Mrs. Medina moved to Hulbert to make their home in 1995 and he preceded her in death on January 5, 2009. She loved to read about Indian history.
Mrs. Medina is survived by two daughters, Teresa Medina of Hulbert and Monica Woodlee of Tulsa, two grandchildren, Jeff Woodlee and Rebecca Woodlee, one brother, John Walker of North Carolina and four sisters, Mattie Mae Ebel of Bartlesville, Elizabeth Estes of Ochelata, Zena Pankratz of Wichita, Kansas and Dorothy Watters of Bartlesville. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Laura Bell Williams and Faye Jones.
