Larry Wayne Sartor(1930-2014)

Larry Wayne Sartor, 84, resident of Bartlesville, died Wednesday April 16, 2014 in Tulsa.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Bartlesville with Pastor James Biesiadecki, and Rev. Tom Cox officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
A Memorial Fund has been established for those who would like to send contributions in Larry's name to the Oklahoma Baptist Home for Children, Owasso Campus, 12700 E. 76th St. N. Owasso, OK. 74055, ATTN: Donna Liston-Pippin.
Mr. Sartor was born April 16, 1930, at Shawnee Oklahoma to Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Robert and Florence Ellen (Gaskill) Sartor. He grew up and received his education there and at Holdenville, graduating High School with the Holdenville Class of 1948. He later attended the former Oklahoma A & M. College now OSU, at Stillwater, graduating there in 1952 with a Bachelors of Science degree in drafting. He was married to Virginia Faye Buchanan on June 10, 1951 at Holdenville, Oklahoma, and they made their first home in Borger Texas, where he was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company as a draftsman, later coming to Bartlesville in 1956, and worked for Phillips for over 35 years until he retired in 1985. He continued to work for Phillips on a contract basis for the next 5 years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bartlesville, of which he was active in supporting the various missions of the church. His hobbies also include Model Airplane club of Bartlesville A.M.A., of which he judged contests for many years, was a founding member of the Copan Air Park, enjoyed the Credit Union Gold club traveling, and was an avid gardener; flowers, vegetables, and trees, of which he enjoyed grafting trees also.
He was a very generous man contributing both to missions at church and local charities.
Mr. Sartor is survived by his wife Virginia Faye (Buchanan) Sartor of the home. By two daughters Donna Leming of Tulsa, and Judy Crabtree and her husband Troy of Bayfield, Colorado, by one brother Jerome Lee "Jerry" Sartor of Valley Mills, Texas, and two sisters, Sue Dotson and husband Guy, and Mary Jo Falls and husband Justin both of Valley Mills, Texas, by seven grandchildren, Tonya, Melanie, and Noah Sartor, Chandra Leming, Zachary and Carley Crabtree, and Kirsty Kalinich, and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne Robert & Florence Ellen Sartor, and by a son Gary Edward Sartor in 1998, and by a brother Robert Stuart Sartor as an infant.
